Banjo the Collie Dog

This is Banjo.
He sat in my mind for a while before I started painting him. That steady, slightly serious look cattle dogs always seem to have. Alert but calm, like he’s waiting for the next job.
I kept the background quiet so his face and those sharp ears could do the talking. The brushwork stayed loose on purpose. It felt more true to the way these dogs move and carry themselves.
He’s waiting for the right home.
